Hungarian craft beer

Brewing in Hungary has over a thousand years of tradition, being the word used to denominate beer, sör, borrowed by the Hungarians before the conquest of Hungary. Since the 1840's, the country was dominated by lagers, and German style dark beers, being nowadays dominated by 4 brands—Borsodi, Dreher, Pécs and Soproni. One of the most famous hungarian tradition related to beer is the fact that they don't cling their beer glasses, as it was the way Austrians celebrated the execution of 13 Hungarian patriots in 1849.

Craft beer didn't arrive to Hungary until recently with new breweries emerging right now as armando_otchoa or Mad Scientist.
