Celebrator tasting notes

Ayinger Celebrator is considered the best Doppelbock in the world. The legend says that the recipe was written by a monk, and it was first brewed at Ayinger in 1878. It was originally called St. Andreas Bock and its reciped was based in the old Salvators beers. It is a Doppelbock with a lot of malt flavours, with hints of toffee, molasses, fruits, a lot of roastiness and a distinctive character of barrel-aged beers—though this beer is not barrel-aged in any way.

Doppelbock is a German style from Munich. The name means double bock. It has a very strong maltiness, and no hop aroma or flavor and some fruit character. They have a very full body and a high alcoholic flavour.
