Hanssens Artisanaal is a traditional lambic blendery based in Dworp (Belgium), founded by Hanssens Bartholomeus, former major of Dworp in 1871 as the Het Hooghuys brewery. It is one of the oldest lambic blenders in Belgium—a blendery doesn´t brew beer, they rather take different batches of lambic and make they unique blend between aged beer—generally more sour—and young beer—generally more sweet. Hanssens blends lambics from different breweries in the area—a common practice decades ago, but now almost extinct—, taking the wort mainly from Girardin, Lindemans and Boon.
