Porter tasting notes

Mikkeller Porter pours black with thick, very persistent brown foam, excellent lacing. It looks like a milkshake in the glass. Aroma is roasted malt, coffee, cocoa, dark chocolate, dried fruits, some caramel and licorice notes. Taste is delicately bitter with hints of coffee, dried prunes and cocoa. Full body, creamy texture, soft carbonation. Finish is long lasting roasty medium bitter, later also hoppy. Strong fantastic flavor, well balanced heavy dessert beer.

Porter is a moderate-strength brown beer with a restrained roasty character and some bitterness. May have roasted flavour—but not burnt—, and often has a chocolate, caramel and malty character. Color is brown to dark brown, and aroma is moderately low bready, biscuity malty.
